I am trying something different. I have three separate novels under construction. I want to share one of them with you as I put it together. I am hoping that you will help me steer the events within it as they unfold. I would also love to discuss the writing process with you. And would love to hear from other writers about their process.

Murder On Cherry Street (writing now)

Used bookstore owner, Aiden Bewley, finds a bleeding man on his shop’s front doorstep late one night. The man has been beaten and stabbed and dies before he can offer any words about his assailant. Soon, the ideal mountain town of Black Mountain, North Carolina is besieged by episodes of assault, terrorization, and further murders, and Aiden finds himself somehow at the epicenter of it all. The FBI shows up but seems content to expend its resources on a wild goose chase, so Aiden, with the assistance of a convincingly self-proclaimed witch set out to uncover who is behind the mayhem.

Plague (writing now)

This novel will be a dystopian tale set in the near future. In it, a plague of sorts has decimated the world, throwing it back many years in functionality.
You will quickly learn that the plague was caused by entities called prions. Prions are not living organisms but are proteins that can cause severe neurological diseases such as Mad Cow Disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), and Kuru.
In the story, a new type of prion disease devastates the world population, and decrements the IQ’s of most of its survivors. And, it leaves many of the survivors hyper-religious, fearful, and prone to violence. The result is a society that has regressed several decades, and a world where most nations have been plunged into authoritarianism (or worse).
